More Christmas

Chris made Brinda some stilts.

And he wasn't very good at sharing.

Neave got some stilts of her own from Uncle Bob.

Brinda, right before she hid her treasures in her closet.

Tucker got a tool set.  Now he's fixing our chairs.

And a new book from Grandma Ellen, with night vision goggles from Santa.

Photos from Christmas

These are actually from Solstice, when we opened gifts at our house.

This is what happens when you try to take pictures of them all together.

Here is only one of 75 photos Neave took of the inside of the tree.  She'd really like you to see that.

The Christmas Play

by Brinda

This is my Christmas play.  And I love the Christmas play.  The sixth graders did the play, and kindergarten through fifth grade sang the songs.

The guy right there in the picture kind of looks like Uncle Bob.  Uncle Bob, did you come to the play?

I was singing about a sheep, a donkey, and a cow.  I am a sheep.  I was by Mary with the baby Jesus.

Reading Rocks!

I was reading to my little sister Neave nursery rhymes.  She really likes nursery rhymes.  We were looking at one of my favorite nursery rhyme books in the house.

Turkey Farm

From Brinda:

We used to have turkeys at our farm.  And then we butchered the turkeys for Thanksgiving, and now we don't have any turkeys left.

This is how the turkeys puff up.

New Dog!

We got a new dog named Nakona.  We really like her.  This is a picture of her.

This is Nakona when she is in trouble.  It looks like she feels guilty.

This picture is of the silly dog jumping up when we tried to take the picture of her.  She licked the camera, which I don't think would be too tasty.

From Neave

There was a kitty on the porch, and Nakona was on it.  Nakona just looked at it.

Really Fast-Growing Trees

Before.

After.

We had trees moved from the homestead down the road.  And now we have really fast-growing trees.  It was really fun watching them being moved in.  I was in school when they started, and then when I came back from school, it looked nothing like our house.

They used this big truck to bring the trees in.  Now we have lots of trees.  Here's a picture under this writing.

Brinda's door

Here is the sign Brinda put on her closet door.  She's moderately protective of her room, but NO ONE is allowed near the closet.  It's been up a couple months, but the Zack Brinkman addition is new.  I like how she ends the note with Ole`, BFF.  I think that's how I'll start ending my notes.

Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

This is me, my sister and my cousin on Halloween - our second Halloween in Sheldon.  It was the best ever!

Neave was a gorilla, my cousin Cullen was a lion, I was a bat, and Brinda was a witch.  And it was awesome!  We went to my grandpa's house for supper.  We went trick or treating before we went to my grandpa's house, and we even trick or treated there.

Bye Bye Concrete

Our garage used to be an old hog building.  The walls between the pens were made of cement.  We had to cut them out to make room for the car.

When we cut our garage out, I broke out one of the walls with a sledge hammer.  The hammer was really heavy.  I wore the ear protectors because the saw was really loud.

Mud Puddle

from Neave

Hi.  Me and Cullen got in the mud puddle and Cullen was scared but I wasn't, and then I got in it.

We dug up a tree to transplant it, and while Chris and I were busy, Neave and Cullen got the hose, filled the hole with water, and jumped in.  And when Tucker found out, he couldn't resist either.

First Day of School

Hi.  This is my on my first day of school.  I only go in the mornings for a little bit.  I'm in second grade.  Brinda is in first grade; she goes for the whole day.

(Yes, this is the best photo I could get of them.)

Rakhi

Rakhi is a celebration of siblings taking care of each other all year.  And then, what we have on Rakhi day is I feed Neave, Tucker feeds Neave, Neave feeds me, Tucker feeds me, and then I feed Tucker and Neave feeds Tucker.  And when Tucker fed me, I bit into the lemon.  I ate the lemon right up.

That is Indian food and we ate it.

I feed my siblings bitter stuff (or sour stuff) and sweet stuff.

Neave is giving Tucker his Rakhi day bracelet.  And what happens I should remind you is that when put on the bracelet, you take care of siblings all year, even if you take the bracelet off, you still take care of siblings, all year long.

I'm laughing on the top of my lungs.  I can't believe when my brother fed me lemon I ate it all up.  He is tying it on my wrist very tight and I laugh so much.

Neave you know is my sister.  Bye!

Double-Grandma-ed

I have two quilts on my bed that are made from my grandmas.   The flower one that has leaves and is beautiful is made by a good grandma, Grandma Ellen.  The other one came from Grandma Mary who is my other grandma, and I like how she made hers too.

It's very hot most of the time, so I wear my nightgown and I only use a sheet.  It will get cooler in the winter, so I will wear most of my grandmas' quilts.  I call that being double-grandmaed, and I like being double-grandmaed in the winter.

Birthday books

B: For my birthday I got money from Uncle Bob and Uncle Bill, and I bought a witch book.  I love witches; witches are my favorite thing that is scary.  And it's kind of weird that when I'm all alone I think that there's a witch coming to get me.

N: I bought books for my birthday too from Uncle Bob and Uncle Bill.  And it's two books.  One is about a dog, one is about only persons.

Funny Faces

T; Me and my sister made funny faces.  And this was mine.  I have another one down under this one.

B: I did one picture that is so funny that I can not hardly believe it.

I like to make noise when I make this face.

(And Neave wanted to join in.)
